Getting the New Year started with something a little off the beaten path - La Ferme Rouge 'La Petite Ferme Rouge' from Zaër, Morocco.

For some reason, the weather is supposed to be in the 60s this weekend - so we're breaking out a rosé! Halkia Winery's Agiorgitiko rosé from the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece. A lovely rosé for anytime of the year!
Friday, December 27th
Giancarlo Luiggi of Ripe Wine Imports was in to get everyone in the mood for the new year, with a fantastic, sparkling Cava (Els Vinyerons) as well as a great new white (Èric Sage's 'Grand Large') and a deep, wintery red (Château du Vieux Moulin - Corbières).

Everyone wants bubbles this time of year - and what could be more fun than the sparkling red made from the obscure Raboso grape by Casa Belfi in Veneto, Italy?
Friday, December 20th
Colin from Vom Boden helped us get ready for the holidays with a delicious line-up of central European wines - sparkling rosé for Domaine Migot (in Lorraine, France), an amazing riesling from Stein and a ramato-style pinot gris from Enderle & Moll (the latter two both from Germany).
Saturday, December 21st
Marie from VOS Selections stopped by with some bold, red wines perfect for the season: Palmina Dolcetto (California), Château de Roquefort 'Gueule de Loup' (France) & Dalamára 'Ayehoros' (Greece)... as well as a killer Armagnac - the 25 year old Delord Bas-Armagnac.

Our favorite Catalonians returned to the store! Rafael from Pares Balta was here popping some bubbles (including a 2011 Cava that made us swoon), reminding us it's bubbles not troubles this time of year!

Former store employee, now Francisco of Volker Wines was back with some vintage Champagne and Austrian treats - perfect for the upcoming holidays

Will from Appalachian Gap returned to sample their yummy, Vermont spirits. But wait!!! He also had with him another wonderful project: Split Spirits - a study in aging whiskeys with different types of wood... interesting and delicious.

We welcomed Leah from Jenny & François back in to recreate some of the magic from her last tasting of superstar, Austrian natural wines in early November. You might say this tasting's theme was Natural Wine Heavy Hitters, including Joe Swick, Milan Nestarec, Christian Tschida and Caleb Leisure!

We started a Cocktail-of-the-Month program a couple months back, which has been really fun. Do you know what's even more fun? Tasting them in the store before you go home to make one on your own! This month: The Martinez - and Old Tom Gin based classic.
