Ancient Kimmeridgian soils, similar to Sancerre and Chablis, impart Menetou-Salon’s characteristic chiseled mineral. The fruit is in the typical citrus family, dominated by grapefruit and lemon rind, in addition to some fresh pear notes. Gilbert is the benchmark domaine in the region.
