“The other white Burgundy grape”, so to speak, is Aligoté. Brighter and lighter than Chardonnay, it’s a slightly friendlier alternative. Edouard Lepesme has been making wine in the humble region of Côtes D’Auxerre, just outside of Chablis, since 2014. The limestone soils of Chablis are also found here, making Edouard’s wines excellent values.
